Students of Arcade Business College met a banker on Monday who made a crore rupees in one night on a TV show.
Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) V winner Anil Sinha impressed students with not just his knowledge but also his confidence and positive attitude. He was invited by the college to interact with students.
Talking about the calibre of Bihari people, Sinha, who is the branch manager with Union Bank of India, Patna, said: “If there had been a job vacancy on the Moon, Biharis would have been the first people to grab it.”
Lauding KBC V for writing a new history, Sinha said: “For the first time in the history of KBC, two people from the same state went on to become crorepatis in one season. Sushil Kumar and I have created history.” Sinha added that before KBC, he and Sushil didn’t know each other but they have now become “buddies”.
Admitting to students that Biharis have immense talent, Sinha said: “There is no dearth of talent in Bihar but people here lack confidence.” He advised the students to work on these points.
Sinha said when he was sitting on the hot seat in KBC V, one thought helped him. “I kept thinking I was not alone there, nine crore people of Bihar were with me. They kept their faith in me and I did not want to disappoint them,” said Sinha.
The banker said he was writing a book, Kaise Bane Crorepati, for those people who aspire to play the game show. “The book will have brief interviews of all the crorepatis so far (KBC participants who have won at least Rs 1 crore in the show). The book would help KBC aspirants.”
Sinha said he was planning to start a personality grooming class.
Sharing an interesting incident from his life, Sinha said: “I used to prepare for banking examinations with six other students after matriculation. From the time KBC started, I wanted to take part in the show. I used to tell those six friends about my passion for KBC. But they used to make fun of me. After winning Rs 1 crore in KBC V, I called up all of them. I was pleasantly shocked when they told me that they used to make fun of me because they wanted to motivate me to achieve my goal. So if someone criticises you, take it positively.” Sanjay Kumar, who has qualified for the first audition of KBC VI and was present at the meeting, said: “Sinhaji gave us valuable tips that would work wonders for me.” Shilpa Gupta (25), a student, said: “Sinha sir is a crorepati but he has no attitude. I liked his down-to-earth nature.”
