The scheduled visit of three famous actors to the city on Thursday has sparked security concerns among one of their hosts.

John Abraham, Anil Kapoor and Tusshar Kapoor would be in town to promote their film Shootout at Wadala.

A source in Mumbai-based public relations film Spice Bhasha, which is organising the visit, confirmed that the three actors would be promoting their new film, directed by Sanjay Gupta and slated for a May 1 release.

Event co-ordinator Prashant Nishant said: “After landing in Patna at 12noon, they would head straight for the venue of their news meet.”

The venue was initially supposed to be Cinepolis — the multiplex at P&M Mall. But the venue had to be changed after concerns expressed by some officials at the shopping mall.

“Everything was fixed and the place for news meet was also ready. But when Shah Rukh Khan had visited the mall, fans who had come to see him started to pelt stones and the police had to resort to a lathicharge. We don’t want a repetition of the incident,” said a Cinepolis official, who did not want to be named.

Shah Rukh Khan had visited Patna on December 22, 2011, to promote his film Don 2. During his news meet at P&M Mall, the crowd had gone berserk forcing the police to lathicharge.

Even a visit from the additional superintendent of police (law and order) Vivekanand to the mall on Wednesday did not assuage the fears of the Cinepolis management.

The Cinepolis official added: “When a star as famous as John Abraham is coming, students of schools nearby might try to gatecrash the event. There are four schools in the vicinity. It would be really difficult for our security personnel to stop them.”

A Spice Bhasha source said: “As mall authorities backed, so probably the news meet would be held in hotel Maurya at 3.15pm.”
