Well-wishers of the three Indian Idol contestants from Bihar — Ritika Raj, Devendra Pal Singh and Amitabh Narayan — are a worried lot, as they fear votes might get divided among the trio.
Relatives and friends of the three realise that votes are crucial but fear that those might be shared, making it difficult for any of them to win.
In the sixth season of Indian Idol, the elimination will be based on the judges’ marks and audience voting in a 1:1 ratio.
“Residents’ votes will be a deciding factor and we fear it might be divided among Ritika, Devendra and Amitabh,” said Ramgopal Singh, Ritika’s father.
Devendra hails from Patna City. On Sunday, his relatives went to Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib to campaign for him. “We went there with banners and pamphlets,” said Jaswinder Kaur, his aunt.
Amitabh, who hails from Muzaffarpur, had left the state eight years ago. The Telegraph could not contact Amitabh or his relatives.
