The Teachers’ Association and Research Scholars’ Association of Jai Prakash University have demanded VC Dwijendra Gupta’s dismissal following outgoing Governor D.Y. Patil’s comment that people aspiring for high posts should not furnish wrong information.

In an interview on Monday, Patil had said two vice-chancellors (VCs) had submitted wrong information.

Postgraduate Teachers’ Association secretary Ranjit Singh has demanded immediate dismissal of VC Gupta.

Ranjit said the VC had threatened teachers of dire consequences asking them to stop complaining to the chancellor.

The university’s media officer, R.P. Bablu, said an inquiry had been initiated.
