The secretary of urban development department, S Siddharth, receives the award for “Best state for skill training of urban poor” on behalf of the Bihar government from President Pranab Mukherjee at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Tuesday. The national award comes under the Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana for 2012-13. The Union ministry of housing and urban poverty alleviation conferred the award on the state for conducting skills training of 34,537 youths (below poverty line) in urban areas. Telegraph picture
