Muzaffarpur, Dec. 29: Traders observed a token strike today in protest against a bomb attack near a medicine stockist’s shop at Suttapatti Chowk under Town police station in the district last night.
Though no casualty was reported, a seven-year-old boy, Rohit Kumar, suffered splinter injuries and had to be admitted to the Sadar hospital.
The stockist, Kashinath Banka, was present with two of his employees at the shop when the incident occurred but they escaped unhurt. The traders in the area kept their shutters down for a couple of hours today.
Senior superintendent of police, Muzaffarpur, Rajesh Kumar and deputy superintendent of police (city) Baccha Singh visited the place to take stock of the situation.
Banka alleged that a textile merchant in the neighbourhood had hired criminals to eliminate him.
