Patna, Sept. 7: Health freaks in the state capital are in for a treat. For, renowned fitness centre Gold’s Gym is set to open its doors in the city soon.

D.N. Singh, the owner of the franchise, said he has been flooded with enquiry calls from residents of all ages. “The people seem to be very excited. We have been flooded with calls since we put up the banner. As there are no branded gyms in the state capital, people are waiting eagerly for it.”

The fitness centre will open at RK Avenue by December this year. Interested persons can get themselves registered by September 11.

Nilesh Kumar, a fitness freak, said: “I am very excited about this development. Many celebrities in other cities go to Gold’s Gym. As soon as I saw the poster, I logged on to the website and contacted the person concerned so that I could get myself registered.”

Homemaker Sanjeevani Ranjan, 30, said she wakes up at 4am to hit the gym. “I joined a gym because I found I couldn’t fit into my favourite dresses,” she said.

Sources said the gym culture in the state capital had picked pace over the past few years. People of all ages are equally eager to have well-toned bodies and keep fit. So, they are hitting the gyms frequently.

Althea Shah, the marketing vice-president of Gold’s Gym, India, said: “It is a world famous brand. People all over the world know about it. So, we thought that since Bihar is emerging as one of the most developed states in the country, we should open an outlet here. The kind of response we got from the people is amazing.”
