Patna, Jan. 2: Hold on to your tickets the next time you head home from Regent. Soon, you could be the proud owner of a stylish motorbike.
Regent owner Suman Kumar Sinha has given cine buffs 101 reasons to cheer this new year. Multiply that by 12. The theatre has planned a lucky draw — Har Din Utsav, Har Mahine Inaam — on the first Sunday of every month. While the winner will get a bike, 100 more would get free movie tickets and gizmos.
Sinha said: “The lucky draw has been started to excite the cinegoers, who spend a handsome amount to watch films. The first draw will be conducted on January 8. I am trying to contact some eminent personality who would give away the prizes.”
If you want to be one of the lucky few to figure on the monthly lists, remember not to lose the ticket. The winners would be drawn out of a pool of sold tickets for different shows in Regent throughout a month.
“The winners would be chosen from the tickets sold. Residents need to save the number that is printed on the left panel of the ticket,” said Sinha.
He, however, countered that the fear of decreasing footfall or competition from Cinepolis are reasons behind introduction of the lucky draw. “Last summer, I had offered the audience free soft drinks and ice cream. I am offering free coffee during the morning and night shows of Don 2. No one can say I am scared of the multiplex. They are doing their job, I am doing mine.”
Whatever be the motivation, cine buffs are excited. Patel Nagar resident Manjesh Kumar said: “I always go to Regent to watch movies, so I would surely get an opportunity to win a bike.”
