Three Maoists, including two women, planning to create disturbances during elections were arrested from Dhapar and Fatehpur villages on Saturday night.
Senior superintendent of police Ranjit Kumar Mishra said a raiding team of the central forces led by the assistant superintendent of police (operations) Rana Brajesh stumbled upon the house of Ram Kishore Sahni in Dhapar village under Shivaipatti police station and recovered Rs 5 lakh. Besides, crude material used in the making bombs, wires of detonators and explosives were seized. Ram Kishore Sahni, allegedly hobnobbing with a zonal commander of Maoists, Devendra Sahni was arrested.
Extortion letters and details of levy recovered from the traders as well as leaflets of rebel organisations were also seized. Extortion letters pertaining to levy demand are being minutely examined, said the SSP.
Mishra said two women rebels Rajni Devi and Renu Bharti were arrested from Fetehpur village under Kanti police station while they were spying for the rebel outfit. All the three arrested Naxalites have been sent to Khudiram Bose Memorial Central Jail after thorough interrogation.
