Team Smile, a students' initiative to reach out to underprivileged children at Central University of South Bihar's Gaya campus, held a certificate-distribution ceremony on May 18 to acknowledge contributions of its active members.
Public relations officer Mohammad Mudassir Alam said the event was held under the supervision of Pranav Kumar, faculty supervisor, Team Smile, and assistant professor of political studies.
He said the objective was to acknowledge and appreciate students who were regular in visiting government schools and always put a step forward in organising events. Starting off the programme was Badri Sankar Das, newly elected president of Team Smile. He was followed by Aman Sagar, who gave a short introduction about the evolution of Team Smile and what it does. Then, certificates were distributed to the students.
Farewell for girls
Final-year zoology students of JD Women's College bade farewell at a ceremony organised for them by the second-year students on May 15. The function started with welcome songs, as the guests of honour danced.
The outgoing students reminisced how the past three years were for them - what a nice experience it was on campus and how cooperative and helpful were the teachers.
The second-year students presented dance acts and plays. Ankita Sharma, one of the outgoing students, said: "It was a pleasant and happy moment to study at a college where not only are your skills sharpened but also every one is disciplined."
