Patna/Motihari, July 11: A team comprising members of the Union ministry of human resource development, Central University of Bihar and the education department today visited Motihari to inspect land for the proposed campus of the institute.

The team included Central University of Bihar vice-chancellor Janak Pandey, education department principal secretary Amarjeet Sinha and education department joint secretary Amit Khare. Motihari district magistrate Abhijit Sinha told The Telegraph: “Officials from Central University of Bihar and the state education department held a meeting at Circuit House.”Sinha, however, refused to divulge information about the outcome of the meeting

Sources said the delegates visited two sites — one at Fursatpur, which lies 5km south of Motihari town, and the other site at Rupdih, 6km north of Motihari town.

Sources said both the sites were around 300 acres each, fuelling speculation that even if Motihari does not get a full campus, it can start a few courses.

In that case, the administrative office will be shifted elsewhere.

The Union government has decided to procure 300 acres in Gaya after the state refused to provide land for the campus in the district.
