Taste the Technika - BIT technology festival starts today

Patna, March 2: The much-awaited fest — Technika-12 — of Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, Patna campus, would commence tomorrow.

Chief guest Dr. S.N. Guha, the vice-chancellor of Aryabhatta Knowledge University, would inaugurate the four-day extravaganza at 3.30pm. G.P. Lal, the member of board of governors, BIT Mesra, will be the guest of honour at the inaugural ceremony.

Ajay Chakrabarty, the vice-chancellor of BIT Mesra, B.N. Giri, the director of BIT Patna, S.P. Lal, the deputy director of BIT Patna, would be present at the inaugural ceremony, along with other professors.

At 6.30pm, Justice (retired) Rajendra Prasad, a member of Bihar Human Rights Commission, would inaugurate the alumni meet of Birla Institute of Technology Old Students’ Association (Bitosa).

KPS Keshari, the chairman of the Bitosa Bihar chapter, would be the guest of honour at the event. Former students, who are from Bihar and those working in the state, would be attending the event. The students of 1985-86 batch would be honoured to acknowledge their 25th year.

The event will be followed by a cultural night, which will be organised by Pratibimb, the cultural society of BIT, Patna.

Various technical and non-technical events would be conducted from March 3 to 6. Students from various technical institutions would participate in the techfest. An education fair is also being organised for the first time in Technika.
