Patna, May 30: Participants at today’s Planning Commission meet were invited to a gala dinner thrown by chief minister Nitish Kumar at Hotel Maurya today.
A total of 38 delegates, including Planning Commission chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia, were invited to the dinner.
The menu included a host of delicacies, starting with welcome drinks, moving snacks, soups, salads, Italian, Chinese, Bihari, Rajasthani food and finally, the desserts.
“The dinner was hosted at Kautilya restaurant (of Hotel Maurya). A cultural programme was also organised at the venue,” said R.R. Rana, the project manager (commercial) of Hotel Maurya.
The menu includes welcome drinks — Virgin Mary, jal jeera, lime cordial with cucumber, seasonal fresh mango blossom and the traditional fresh lime soda, both sweet and salted.
Chicken kastoori kebab, shrimp masala, fish nuggets, mutton kakori kebab, chana dal vada with coconut chutney, vegetable spring roll, rajwari chat, cottage cheese and grape stick and chocolate cone are the list of snacks which the guests had to choose from. The soup included vegetable badami, zafrani shorba and vegetable lemon coriander soup.
There were a variety of salads as well. They were: fit and fine salad, Russian salad, gulmarg salad, cheese and pineapple salad, corn and mushroom salad.
The main course included galauti kebab, chuzza musallam, patrani machi, luchi with channa dal, paneer sikimpuri, lauki musallam and scoop aloo with posto dana.
Bihar’s flavour would be found in dishes like litti with aloo and baigan ka bharta.
Apart from these, Rajasthani food, Italian and Chinese delicacies also include the dinner.
The finger-licking experience ended with a long list of desserts.
