Patna, Oct. 3: The residents of the state capital can now bite into farm-fresh vegetables and sandwich delights sitting in a healthy ambience.
Subway, the food giant that specialises in sandwich (subs), hit Patna market with its first outlet on Boring Road, today. Subway has a thumping presence across 75 countries and is the second largest fast-food chain in the world.
Rajeev, who came with his friend to have a veggie delight at the outlet, was quite upbeat about the new choice in hand.
He said: “In Patna, we have always missed the fun of having fast-food sitting in an air-conditioned and good ambience. We are happy that Patna is developing at a very fast pace and it’s a good thing for a foodie like me.”
Shweta, who loves to eat outside but is cautious about putting on extra kilos, said: “I am happy to have a Subway in my own city. I have always loved to eat here because the food we get here are fresh and healthy. Moreover, we can choose from a variety of products available here. Whenever I travelled to a metro, I found a variety of food joints there and I wished we could have something like those in Patna. I think, multinational food chains are taking Patna as the developing state and are fearlessly expanding their business. Bihar is now ready to have more such kind of outlets.”
Subway Boring Road is offering three varieties of vegetarian sandwich (subs), which cost between Rs 80 and Rs 260 and 12 different varieties of non-vegetarian subs costing between Rs 135 and Rs 280, three different varieties of salads — vegetarian, chicken and turkey — costing between Rs 120 and Rs 200 and five varieties of breads to chose from.
Sumit Singh, the Subway franchise owner, said: “We are happy to bring such a big brand in Patna. Subway already has around 14,600 outlets all over the world. We have just opened the outlet but the response we have got in a few hours is tremendous. It is like the people have been waiting for something like this to open for long. Subway has always promoted healthy eating and has believed in delivering farm-fresh vegetables. It will be a delight for health-conscious people.”
