Students table 15-point demand

Darbhanga, Feb. 14: Members of Students’ Federation of India (SFI) demonstrated in front of the office of Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) vice-chancellor S.P. Singh to press their 15-point demand.

The demonstrators, led by SFI Samastipur district president Sanjay Kumar later staged a dharna. A dozen student leaders, including Sanjay, Ramnath Kunwar, Ghyansham Kumar, Chandan Mallik, Rajesh Mishra and Binod Mandal, also spoke against the university authorities for supporting Narhan College principal Megan Prasad. The main demand of the students include an enquiry against the alleged misdeeds of Prasad, withdrawal of fee hike of postgraduate examination forms, increase in number of seats for admission in different postgraduate department of Samastipur College.

Transfer

RBS College, Andaur, principal Mohammed Ramatullah has been transferred to Marwari College, Darbhanga. Ramatullah took charge as principal this afternoon.

Postponed

The syndicate meeting of Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga University was postponed today after the four government nominees to the apex body of the varsity raised various objections to the actions of the vice-chancellor Nand Kishore Sharma.
