
Patna: Police on Wednesday night raided Sarthak hotel on Hotel Gali off Fraser Road and arrested four boys for allegedly organising a liquor party.
The four presumably minor boys, whose identities The Telegraph is withholding for journalistic conventions, had come to Patna from Siwan to appear for a competitive examination. Kotwali police arrested the hotel manager, Vinod Kumar Mishra, and sealed two rooms of the hotel.
"Police were carrying out a checking drive at various hotels on Hotel Gali on Wednesday evening. We recovered three full liquor bottles and an empty liquor bottle from the hotel rooms," said Kotwali police station house officer Ramashankar Singh.
The SHO claimed that the four boys had come from Siwan and were to appear for an engineering entrance examination. They claimed to have brought the liquor from Siwan.
Singh said: "The hotel manager has been arrested and based on direction of Patna senior superintendent of police Manu Maharaaj, legal action will be taken against the hotel owners." The SHO claimed that based on directions of Patna High Court, action will be taken even to seal the hotel building.
Patna police on Thursday recovered the stolen SUV from Jandaha in Vaishali district. Rohit Kumar and Imran, both former employees of Hav Motors, a showroom located on Bailey Road, on Tuesday evening stole the vehicle parked outside the showroom. Danapur SHO Sandeep Kumar said: "The SUV meant for test drive was parked outside the showroom and was stolen when the guard had gone to the washroom."
The SHO claimed based on the complaint made by the showroom owner, the police arrested Rohit, Imran and Dharmendra, a mechanic at Saguna Mor who had helped them commit the theft. The police claimed that Rohit and Imran were planning to sell the vehicle priced at Rs 14 lakh outside Bihar.
Accident
One died in a collision between a bus and a motorcycle on NH-57 near Adalpur More in Darbhanga. After the collision, the bus veered off the road and six passengers were injured as a result.
The police from the nearby Sadar police station arrived at the scene with haste.
