Patna: Bihar's Har Ghar Nal scheme - a part of the seven resolves of the state government and one which entails supplying piped drinking water to all households - has caught the Centre's attention.
The Centre, in fact, is advising other states to follow it to ensure quality drinking water supply to households.
Union minister of state for rural development Ram Kripal Yadav shared this information on Friday during a programme organised by the state government to give impetus to the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural).
While delivering the speech at the function, Yadav dwelt on the aims of the PMAY and said the target was to cover one crore dwelling units under this scheme by 2019, and then he spoke about the Har Ghar Nal scheme and said the central government was advising other states to follow it.

The Har Ghar Nal scheme is being implemented in all the 1.14 lakh wards of which the public health and engineering department is working in 56,000 wards and in the remaining ones, the panchayati raj department has given the task of providing piped drinking water to people.
Sources in the state government said out of the work allotted to the panchayati raj department has been completed in 3,000 and odd wards.
Work was in different stages in another 30,000 wards, whereas in case of PHED, the work had been started in about 10,000 wards. The government aims to complete the work by 2020.
The Har Ghar Nal Yojana is the second scheme from the state to have caught the Centre's attention. The Har Ghar Bijli Yojana, which has now been subsumed in the Centre-sponsored Saubhagya scheme, too had caught Delhi's attention.
