Kazi Mohammadpur police on Thursday lodged an FIR against actors Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit and Preity Zinta for endorsing Maggi instant noodles.

The police also named two officials of Nestlé India - managing director Mohan Gupta and joint director S. Alam. The complaint was filed by lawyer Sudhir Kumar Ojha, who alleged he had been taken ill after eating the popular snack. On Tuesday, additional chief judicial magistrate Ram Chandra Prasad had directed the Kazi Mohammadpur police station to register a case in this connection. Senior superintendent of police Ranjit Kumar Mishra said Kazi Mohammadpur police station house officer Vedanand Mishra has been made the investigating officer in the case. Complainant Ojha met SHO Mishra on Thursday morning and submitted the court order for registering the FIR against the actors and the Nestlé executives.

SSP Mishra said representatives of Nestlé India also reached his office and met him arguing "purity and virtuousness" of the product.
