Sports champ…

Is what 16-year-old Anjali would like to be known as. She plays basketball, kabaddi and table tennis and is well known for her oratory skills. Academics, too, is one of her forte.

Knack in sports…

Was developed by Anjali five years ago at her former institution, St Michael’s High School. She received training from school coach Satya Prakash and made it to the school basketball team in 2008.

Inspiration…

For Anjali has been Shraddha Choudhary, her senior at school. Shraddha was the school topper in Notre Dame Academy in Class XII.

Biggest support…

Have always been her parents — Umesh Kumar Singh (an insurance officer) and Anita Singh (homemaker).

High points…

Of Anjali’s basketball tourneys have been ensuring a championship in a state-level slam-dunk competition organised by DPS Patna in 2008. She also captained her team to victory in an inter-school basketball tournament organised by and in Notre Dame Academy in 2012. She also took part in three state-level matches, one in 2009 and the other two in 2010. Not only sports, Anjali was also declared the best orator in Hindi and English in 2007 and 2009 respectively. She got the Best Michaelite award in 2009 and 2010. In 2010, she was felicitated as the Class X school topper from different organisations.

Cycle race champ…

Too is Anjali. She was awarded with the title in the annual school sports in Class VIII, IX and X.

Singing…

Is what Anjali is fond of. In 2010, she was selected for the third-level of 'Voice of Bihar' conducted by a TV channel.

Her aim…

Is to compete in an international basketball tournament and bring laurels to the country.
