Akshara is a basketball player and has taken part in four national tournaments.

Interest in the sport…

She developed four years ago at her school. She was trained by coaches Devashish Banerjee (Moinul Haque Stadium) in 2010 and Ravi Singh (international player and school coach) in 2011.

Support…

For Akshara have been her parents. Apart from them, a steady source of motivation has been Sanjay Tiwary, the health and physical education teacher at her school. He is the one who had encouraged her to take up the sport.

Is Lebron James because of his shooting technique.

High points…

Include a number of individuals as well as awards for her school. A Slam Dunk Basketball Tournament was organised in the school in 2010. Akshara won the Best Player of the Tournament award and her team also won the tourney. She also won a prize for the best rising player from Sardar Patel Sports Foundation in 2010.

Multi-talented…

Akshara has also taken part in a district-level badminton tournament where she was the runner-up. She also competed in several inter-school tournaments and the school teams (different every time) emerged winner both times. Akshara also secured the highest CGPA 10 in Class X examination.

Dreams…

Of becoming an electronics engineer. She also wants to join the Indian Army. She would like to continue with basketball and bring laurels to the country.
