Star in making…
Is 15-year-old Shahbaz. He has played in several district-level cricket tournaments and has been declared Man of the Match seven times. He has also won Man of the Series award twice.
Father’s wish…
Made Shahbaz take to cricket in 2003 when he was only seven years old. Mohammed Shamim, Shahbaz’s father, always wanted his youngest son (Shahbaz) to become an international cricketer. Shahbaz’s paternal grandfather Mohammed Azim was a wrestler while Shamim, himself, was a football player.
In good hands…
Is Shahbaz. He started training under Shailesh Kumar, cricket coach at school. Later, he joined Cricket Academy of Bihar where he was coached by cricketer Amikar Dayal.
Sport idols…
For Shahbaz are Australia’s Shane Watson and England’s Alistair Cook. Shahbaz feels Watson selects his shots with tact. According to Shahbaz, Cook is one of the best players in his team.
Focused student…
Is Shahbaz. He is as serious about his studies as his game. Though not among the school toppers, he has always scored well in class.
World cricket…
Is wants Shahzad aims to play in next 10 years. In case his dreams don’t come true, he wants to become a doctor.
