Is 15-year-old Odissi dancer Kajal. Recently, she won the first prize in an inter-school group dance competition at SK Memorial Hall. She also performed at the Governor’s House in April 2009.

Multi-talented…

Is Kajal, who regularly participates in quizzes. In February, she won the second prize with her teammate at the Annual Science Quiz organised by Shrikrishna Science Centre. She also secured the 123rd international rank in English Olympiad in April. She is ranked fifth in the state.

Bright student…

Kajal has always been ranked among the top three students in class. The student editor of the school magazine, Kajal is also the deputy head girl.

Dancing is passion…

For Kajal since she was four. Trained in freestyle, she has also taken a six-month elementary training in Salsa. Brought up in a joint family, Kajal has been inspired to take up dance from her sisters. She started to learn Odissi when she was 12 from her dance teacher at school, Samrat Adya.

Poor facilities…

Bother Kajal. She feels the state government should ensure that everyone gets adequate opportunities and facilities.

Aiming high…

Is Kajal, who wants to become a chartered accountant while pursuing dance as a hobby.
