Bihar State Education Infrastructure Development Corporation (BSEIDC) has issued a directive to all the universities to furnish details about their constituent colleges and employees to help the pay verification cell monitor funds management in the varsities.
On April 8, education minister P.K. Shahi had inaugurated the cell.
The managing director of BSEIDC, Sanjeevan Sinha, on Thursday issued directives to the registrars to furnish details about the number of constituent colleges, when they came under the varsity and what was the agreement signed between the university and the colleges.
The registrars have also been asked to give details about the number of teachers working in the varsity, their salaries and their time of promotions.
Sources said the education department has sought details from the varsities because the pay verification cell would digitise them.
The details would include the teachers’ date of joining, their salaries and promotions during a specific period of time.
Sinha said the auditors from the education department would visit the universities to collect the details.
“The details provided by the varsities would be kept as official records in the education department and would be used while creating the database,” he said.
The education department has also directed the universities to go for pay verification of their employees. Sources said the teachers and non-teaching employees have to submit an application with relative documents to the cell, according to which their salaries would be verified within 15 days.
Sinha said: “In order to make the system error free, the digitisation would be done at various stages. The work would then be processed and the result would be declared within six months.”
Once the whole process is completed, the teachers and non-teaching employees would receive a verification slip about their salaries.
This initiative would help the teachers get their pension without any hassle after retirement.
Sources said once the pay verification process is completed, it would help the government in preparing the budget. It would also help the teachers get their salaries on time.
