Patna, Jan. 27: There was pin drop silence in the auditorium. The 20 seconds the announcer took to announce the winners seemed like ages. The suspense snowballed into celebrations after he announced “the winner is St Paul’s High School”.
The audience started applauding. The winners jumped. The losers clapped for the better side winning the inter-school quiz competition today organised by Notre Dame Academy, in collaboration with the Parents’-Teachers’ Association.
Keshav, one of the members of the winning team, said: “Those 20 seconds were killing. We were concentrating on the competition. We did not know we had won.”
Eight schools, including Notre Dame Academy, International School (CBSE), Delhi Public School, International School (ICSE), Gyan Niketan, St Paul’s High School, St Michael’s High School and Prarambhika, took part in the competition. The runners-up were Delhi Public School.
The one-hour-long event was conducted by M.K. Sinha, a management teacher, and Neeta K. Choudhary, the secretary of the association.
