Siddiqui on fake firms

Patna: Finance minister Abdul Bari Siddiqui on Thursday expressed deep concern over the mushrooming of fake non-banking financial companies and chit fund companies.

Siddiqui, during a review meeting of his department, instructed officials to close such companies as soon as possible. Siddiqui said such fake companies were there in rural as well as urban areas.

New role

Patna: Indian Railway Service of Engineers officer (1984 batch) Sudhanshu Sharma on Thursday joined as senior deputy general manager of East Central Railway.

Hall meet

Patna: Divisional commissioner Anand Kishor on Thursday chaired the administrative unit meeting of SK Memorial Hall Development Committee.

Rail halt

Patna: East Central Railway on Thursday announced a two-minute temporary stoppage of six trains at Khudiram Bose Pusa station in Samastipur district from April 22 to 24. The decision has been taken to cater to the need of passengers coming to attend the inter-state conference of Tabligi Jamayat.

Moscow visit

• Patna: The students who had won "Solve & Win" contest organised by Super 30, visited Moscow interacting with students of School 19, Moscow's premier school.

The students during the Moscow trip were accompanied by Super 30 founder Anand Kumar's brother Pranav Kumar, Father Addison Armstrong, principal of St Michael's School, Patna, and Mona Gulati, the CEO of United Group of Institutions.

Seminar

• Patna: Super 30 founder Anand Kumar will participate in a seminar organised by Foundation of Excellence at New York on April 23.

Murder arrest

• Araria: Police on Thursday arrested Mukesh Kumar Rajak from Simraha police station of the district on Thursday. He was involved in the murder of businessman Krishna Mohan Sah at his shop on Monday. The killer was picked up on the basis of CCTV footage the family shared with the police.

'IS man' held

• Patna: The Anti Terrorism Squad of Uttar Pradesh police picked up an alleged operative of the Islamic State from Narkatiaganj in West Champaran district on Thursday. The suspect was on the radar of the ATS and sleuths of Delhi police's special cell.
