A Samajwadi Party (SP) worker shuts down the party office in Patna on Friday after the JDU, RJD and the Congress left his party out of their seat-sharing formula. SP state chief Ram Chander Singh Yadav said the alliance took place at SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav's residence but Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar did not inform senior SP leaders before finalising seats for the Assembly polls. SP leaders said they would urge Mulayam to form a third front comprising SP, NCP (also left out of the alliance) and Left parties in the state. Text by Roshan Kumar, picture by Ranjeet Kumar Dey
