Patna, April 9: The state government today transferred 10 IAS officers, including five district magistrates, in an administrative shuffle.
Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) chief executive officer (CEO) Jai Singh has been sent to Khagaria as district magistrate.
Bihar Rajya Jal Parishad managing director Kapil Ashok Shirshat, who also held the position of PMC additional municipal commissioner, has been appointed the new CEO and municipal commissioner of PMC.
Darbhanga district magistrate Bala Murugan D has been brought to Patna as the CEO of Jeevika, run by Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society. He will also take charge as the additional secretary of the rural development department.
Sheikhpura district magistrate (DM) Chandrashekhar Singh will replace Bala in Darbhanga, while handloom and silk directorate director Dinesh Kumar has been shifted to Sheikhpura as DM. Khagaria DM Saket Kumar will be the new handloom and silk director.
Sunil Kumar, a 2006-batch IAS officer, has been transferred from his position as joint secretary at the chief minister's secretariat to replace Lakhisarai DM Uday Kumar Singh, who has been made the Munger DM.
Munger DM Amarendra Prasad Singh has been brought to Patna as the managing director of Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation. Himanshu Rai of the 2010-batch, has been appointed joint secretary in the health department.
The government also transferred 29 IPS officers and promoted two inspector- general (IG) rank officers Vinay Kumar of the criminal investigation department (CID) and Preeta Verma of CID (weaker section) to the rank of additional director-general. The transferred IPS officers include superintendents of police of Bhojpur, Samastipur, Sheohar, Banka, Begusarai, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Kishanganj, Gaya and Patna (west).
Patna zonal inspector-general (IG) Kundan Krishnan has been made IG (operations). Nayyar Hasnain Khan has replaced him.
