The organisers of Bihar Divas, taking a leaf out of Michelangelo’s book, are taking care of every minute detail to ensure that the centenary celebrations are perfect.

Not only have they planned an unparalleled function, they have also designed an invitation that would surely whet the expectations of the visitors to the festival.

The card has been designed by Patna-based artist Alok Jain, who has put up installations during Bihar Divas celebrations last year at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. To augment its aesthetic qualities, the artist has used a combination of red and different shades of white to design the invitation.

“Red is the perfect colour for celebrations. So we have designed the card in red. It would make the card for attractive. As contrast, we have used light cream shades for motifs and designs. The envelope of the card would be off-white and it would have a rough texture,” said Jain.

He added: “We have used the famous Ashokan pillar as a leitmotif on the card. Beneath it, is a map of Bihar to accentuate the beauty.”

The text on the card has also been composed with the motive to impress. “The 19-line text invitation message describes the glorious history of the state. It starts with the line: ‘I am Bihar’,” said the artist.
