Patna, Oct. 14: Residents are spoilt for choice this Dhanteras. For, diamonds, gold jewellery and even foreign trips are on offer for lucky customers this season.

Diwali is just 12 days away, and to lure the buyers, all shops in the market are offering heavy discounts as well as exciting gifts, including jewellery, car, home security products and others, to lucky customers.

Godrej is offering a three-night-four-day trip to Malaysia to a lucky customer who buys a locker. A 10 per cent discount is also on offer.

Godrej retailer on Ashok Rajpath, SMI Hussain, said: “According to our treasure chest offer, customers will get a 10 per cent discount on the purchase of a Godrej locker. With their purchase, customers will also get a lucky coupon that can get them various gifts, including a trip to Malaysia, video-door phones and others.”

He added: “We have received a lot of enquiries since Dussehra and customers have shown encouraging response.”

Maruti Suzuki is attracting customers with attractive gifts as part of its Maha Malamal offer. Open from October 10 to October 31, the offer assures electronic products such as LCD televisions, washing machines, refrigerators, and microwave ovens on purchase of any model of Maruti.

Homemaker Sujata Verma, who was out shopping with her husband, said: “We are planning to buy a Maruti Suzuki car this Dhanteras. Transportation remains a big problem for our eight-member family. My husband has a bike and we are looking forward to buying a car now. We were waiting for an auspicious occasion to buy the four-wheeler and what better festival than Dhanteras. This year, we will bring home a car home and the best part is we will win assured gifts.”

Few lucky customers can also win a Maruti Alto, gold worth Rs 1 lakh and gold worth Rs 50,000 on different products. After all, the yellow metal cannot be far when Dhanteras is near.

Big jewellery outlets in the capital are also ready with sparkling offers.

On the purchase of diamond jewellery worth Rs 2 lakh and more at Tanishq, customers can avail of a 20 per cent discount this Dhanteras. The discount is only till October 27. “We are also offering a discount of 10 per cent on purchase of products worth Rs 10,000 and customers will also get a 24-carat gold-plated brass lamp,” said Umesh Tekriwal, store manager, Tanishq, Frazer Road.

The store manager added that every Dhanteras, sale goes up by seven to eight times than normal days. “We make necessary preparations for such rush and this Dhanteras, we will add 24 more salesperson to our existing strength of 15,” he said.

Store manager of Nakshatra outlet on Dakbungalow Road, Sanjay Kumar Mohan, said: “We are giving 10 per cent discount on purchase of products worth Rs 15,000-35,000, 20 per cent on purchase of Rs 35,000-75,000 and above as part of our Samriddhi offer this Dhanteras.” A 10-day jewellery exhibition has also been organised from October 20, Mohan said.

Sangeeta Narayan, a resident of Boring Road area, said: “I plan to buy a pair of earrings this Dhanteras as it is an auspicious time. I am also very excited about the various discounts on offer.”

Bharati Mukherjee, a homemaker, said: “I came out today only to find about the different discounts on offer so that I can make an informed choice later.”

The mega marts in town — Vishal Mega Mart and Max Mart — are also offering discouts and gifts on different products. Customers can avail of 20 per cent discount on dry fruit gift packs and dark chocolate boxes. Vishal Mega Mart manager Anupam said: “The dry fruit gift packs have been a huge hit this Diwali. Two hundred out of 250 such packs were sold in just two days.”
