Education minister P.K. Shahi tacitly blamed the Raj Bhavan for the poor state of affairs in the universities.
Interacting with reporters on Thursday evening, Shahi said: “People like me, who are holding constitutional posts, cannot speak much. We can only express the pain.”
The minister claimed that the state government failed to control large-scale irregularities in the varsity administration because the university act does not permit it to interfere in their functioning. The Raj Bhavan refused to put its seal on the amendments in the act, he added.
