Patna, Sept. 10: BJP national president Amit Shah will visit Bihar in the first week of November in what will be his first visit to the state after the formation of the NDA government in the state.

'Our national president is likely to come here on November 3 and he would be staying in Bihar for three days,' a senior BJP state unit functionary said on Sunday.

Shah had last visited Bihar in January this year when he had come to Patna for a day.

The BJP office-bearer said the party would make an official announcement about the visit only after getting details from the party headquarters in Delhi but the national president has already given his verbal consent for the Bihar visit.

Shah was scheduled to visit Bihar in June but his engagements in other states led to postponement. Shah will be interacting with the new team of the party state unit.

'Shah would have a review meeting with functionaries of all the cells of the party and the state unit functionaries. Even people from the organisational units at the district and lower levels would be given a chance to share their inputs with Shah,' said the BJP functionary.

He is also scheduled to visit a polling booth and interact with the booth-level committee of the party.

These committees are of special importance to the BJP, as these are considered to be the party's ears on the ground.

There are 62,780 polling booths in Bihar and the party is pursuing a target of having committees at all the booths. Party insiders revealed that so far such committees had become functional in around 70 per cent of the polling booths and the number was likely to increase ahead of Shah's visit.
