A nostalgic walk down the corridors, classrooms and grounds turned out to be an extra prize for several Class X passouts feted for their success by Notre Dame Academy on Thursday.
Notre Dame Academy principal Sister Mary Tessy felicitated 13 of 55 students, who secured 10 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in the Central Board of Secondary Education Class X examination this year, in the presence of the class teachers on Thursday.
Rajiv Kathuria, the teacher of Class X (C), said: “We (the teachers) are very happy to see the performance of our students. All 177 students of the 2011-2012 batch have passed their exam, while 55 of them have got 10 CGPA. We are really proud of our students. We hope that the school continues to achieve this kind of result.”
Sister Tessy gave away mementos and certificates of excellence to the passouts. “This year’s results have been the best in years,” she said.
Sonali Srijan, one of the students, said: “I got to meet many of my friends whom I had not met after the results. We shared our future plans with each other.” Sonali has decided to stay back in Patna, while many of her friends have already taken admission outside the state capital.
Ananya Choudhary, another student who got felicitated, has taken admission in Modern Vidya Niketan in New Delhi. “I have got admission in the scholarship batch of that school. The school has a good curriculum for engineering studies. So I wanted to get myself enrolled in that for further studies. I am happy to have made it,” said Ananya.
She added: “I will miss my classmates very much. We had a great bonding. We used to share everything with each other.”
