Patna: Ram Tiwari, former employee of a security agency, was arrested on Sunday for the murder of his ex-boss Kameshwar Singh at Gardanibagh on Saturday afternoon.
Police said Tiwari shot Singh dead because of a dispute over Rs 40,000 payment.
The Patna police formed a team to crack the case after Singh was killed in the basement of Vishnu Nivas Apartment in Gardanibagh. Based on intelligence inputs and eyewitness information, the police had two suspects.
Senior superintendent of police Manu Maharaaj said: "From CCTV camera footage, the police found two persons passing though the area after the murder. We also found out that Singh had an argument with Tiwari, a former employee, a few days back. With mobile phone surveillance, Tiwari was placed in the area at the time of the murder. Later, he left for his village at Shahpur in Bhojpur district."
The police team was sent to Shahpur and Tiwari was arrested. His brother, an accomplice in the case, is absconding. He has allegedly confessed to the murder. "I worked at Singh's private security agency office for two and a half months but he had not paid my salary of two months - Rs 40,000," the police quoted Tiwari as saying. "I requested Singh to pay my dues several times but he would abuse me."
