Patna, Sept. 11: A school student allegedly abducted by a human organ racket escaped from their clutches and returned home with minor bruises in his body after a 12-hour ordeal and 90 minutes of non-stop run.

The boy, 14-year-old Vishal Kumar alias Somu, was abducted yesterday morning around 9.30 from Beer Chand Patel Path while he was going to school. The kidnappers allegedly held a cloth on his face to make him unconscious. When he regained consciousness partially, he found himself in a room with two other boys. But one of the gang members hit in his head to make him unconscious again.

When Vishal, a Class IX student of Miller High School in the city, regained consciousness completely, he saw windowpanes of the room broken and the boys missing. Wasting no time, he fled.

After running for 30 minutes, Vishal saw railway tracks. He ran along them for an hour to reach Ara railway station. When he narrated the incident to a person at the station, the latter called up Vishal’s maternal uncle, Lallan Kumar Gupta, around 6.30pm. Vishal returned to his maternal uncle’s home at 9.30pm.

Kotwali police have lodged a kidnapping case based on the statements of Vishal and his family members. L.M. Sharma, the deputy superintendent of police (law and order), said: “An abduction case has been registered. We will be able to say if a human organ racket kidnapped the boy after a thorough probe.”

Son of a farmer of Siwan, Vishal stays at Lallan’s home at Mandiri in the city. His brother also stays there.

Recalling the incident a day after, Vishal said: “While I was going to my school around 9.30am, a vehicle stopped beside me near the RJD party office. Three persons made me unconscious using a piece of moistened cloth. When I regained consciousness, I found myself in a room of a single-storeyed building with two other boys.” Before Vishal could regain consciousness completely, one of the abductors hit on his head hard and he became unconscious again.“The man who hit me was making frequent calls to someone and telling that person that the boy would be sent to him after some time,” Vishal said.

When Vishal regained consciousness, he found the windowpanes of the room broken and the two boys he had seen earlier missing. Vishal said: “When I saw the windowpanes broken and no one inside the room, I escaped.”

Lallan told The Telegraph: “I received a call from a man in Ara around 6.30pm on Saturday. He apprised me of the incident.” When Vishal reached home, Lallan was shocked to see blade injuries in his chest and hands. He took Vishal to Patna Medical College and Hospital, where the doctors administered first aid.

Lallan said: “The doctors confirmed after medical check-up that Vishal had not suffered any internal injuries.” He suspects the hands of some human organ racket behind Vishal’s abduction.
