A girl and a married woman — both victims of human trafficking — were rescued from a house at Kabristan Zeromile in the town following a police raid.

Two men and a woman, identified as Mohammad Azad, Mohammad Babloo, and Madhu, were arrested during the raid from the house under the jurisdiction of Sadar police station on Saturday night.

Purnea deputy superintendent of police (Sadar) Satish Kumar said: “A trafficking case has been lodged against the arrested persons. They are being interrogated at present.”
