Republic Day for the public
On the eve of Republic Day, Gandhi Maidan was wrapped in layers of security as never before. In a break from tradition, a temporary police station has been set up at Gandhi Maidan,where Governor Ram Nath Kovind will hoist the tricolour and chief minister Nitish Kumar and other dignitaries will be present. Arrangements have been made for around 1 lakh spectators to watch the celebrations from the six-row galleries made of bamboo 20m from the parade path. A ready reckoner:
