Anugrah Narayan Medical College and Hospital (ANMCH) is an ailing institution in need of proper care by the state health department and authorities concerned, a report compiled by experts stated.
A team of officials, led by Magadh division commissioner-cum-Patients’ Welfare Committee chairman Vivek Kumar Singh and Gaya district magistrate-cum-Patients’ Welfare Committee vice-chairperson Bandana Preyashi, had inspected ANMCH on March 3 and found several anomalies.
In the report, the Magadh division commissioner has stated that the CT scan machine was found defunct, while the ultrasonography and the ultramamography machines were not operational owing to lack of trained doctors and technicians. The ventilator machine in the emergency ward was also found dysfunctional.
ANMCH superintendent Sitaram Prasad admitted there is a shortage of trained doctors, technicians, Grade-III and Grade-IV employees to run the clinical pathology unit, X-Ray, ultrasonography, ultramamography and the CT scan machines round the clock.
