Patna, Aug. 21: A 16-year old victim of alleged gangrape today came down to deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi’s janata durbar and claimed that the accused have not been arrested.

Modi asked the girl’s uncle to narrate the problem. The man said: “Sir, there are three accused in this case but only one has been arrested. Investigating officer Awadesh Yadav said it is not a gangrape but an outcome of a love affair. Even the superintendent of police (SP) does not believe us.”

Modi told Bhojpur SP M.R. Naik over phone: “A girl has come to my janata durbar and she is talking about being gangraped. If a girl says she has been gangraped, I don’t think you need any clarification.”

On the incident, which allegedly took place on May 11 under jurisdiction of Shahpur police station, she said: “There are three accused, one is Manish Choudhary, who is currently in jail. However, Chotu Prasad alias Niraj Prasad and Musa Prasad alias Dhiraj Prasad, who are sons of Mitthu Prasad alias Rajendra Prasad, have not been arrested.”

She added: “Around 5pm on May 11, I went to the police station with my grandmother to lodge a complaint. The officer forced us to sit there the whole night after lodging the case. Next morning, when we went to our village along with the police, the accused were found absconding.”
