Patna: Former chief minister Rabri Devi called the BJP a party of " dangai" (rioters) on Wednesday, amid the row over the toppling of a statue of Vladimir Lenin in Tripura where the Left was voted out after 25 years.
"BJP ek dangai party hai (BJP is a rioters' party) and they will do similar things wherever they are ruling. They BJP wants to create communal tension ahead of the Lok Sabha election and they are using this mechanism as an election tool to woo the votes of a particular caste and community," Rabri said outside the Council before going inside the House to attend the proceedings.
Whenever elections are round the corner BJP uses divide and rule to defeat their opponents but that tactic will not work in Bihar, Rabri added, claiming that the RJD would stop the BJP's victory chariot in Bihar.
"The people of Bihar will teach a lesson to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and all other fascist forces who are zeroing in on Bihar after winning elections in other states. But let me say that their vijay rath (victory chariot) will be stopped in Bihar.
"Narendra Modi promised to give Rs 15 lakh to every citizen but nothing came; rather, the white money of India has gone to foreign banks," Rabri alleged.
Rabri, who is the leader of the RJD's legislature party in both Houses, also attacked chief minister Nitish Kumar over the special CBI court issuing notice to chief secretary Anjani Kumar Singh over a fodder scam case.
Rabri, whose husband and party chief Lalu Prasad has been convicted in three fodder scam cases and is in prison in Ranchi, alleged that the bureaucracy was not touched in the scam while the top people like the chief minister (read Lalu, who was chief minister of undivided Bihar when the scam happened) were jailed.
"Anjani Kumar should he removed from the post (of chief secretary) and where is antar aatma (voice of conscience) of Nitish Kumar in this case? Strict action should be taken against the chief secretary after court has served him notice as an accused. Nitish's antar aatma only works in the case of Lalu ji and my son Tejashwi but not in the case of Anjani Kumar. It seems the antar aatma of Nitish is dead," Rabri said.
The BJP has distanced itself from the Tripura incident, with the party's national president Amit Shah tweeting on Wednesday that the party did not approve of toppling any statue.
