Patna, Oct. 26: Spirit Air Private Limited, in association with Bangalore-based Door to Door Services Limited (DTDS), will start non-scheduled flight services on Patna-Purnea and Purnea-Calcutta routes from November 6.

Patna airport sources said the fare from Patna to Purnea would be Rs 3,996 and on Purnea-Calcutta route it would be Rs 3,498. DTDS would operate a nine-seat aircraft — Cessna 208 B Grand Karwan — twice a week on both routes.

Earlier, DTDS had started a charter flight services on the Patna-Jamshedpur-Ranchi route in February. However, the services were later suspended in June because of low passenger flow.

In Patna, the chartered flights would operate from Jaiprakash Narayan International Airport and in Purnea these would operate from the state airfield. In Bihar, there are 21 airfields at present of which three are under Air Force control.
