Chief minister Nitish Kumar and education minister PK Shahi pose with some of the best-performing students in the Bihar School Examination Board matriculation examination from Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya, Jamui, on Friday. The students were handed mementos by Nitish. The institution was recently in the news as 30 of the 31 top performers in the matriculation examination were from the school. Nitish met the top 10 and congratulated them for their success. Meeting them in his chamber at the old secretariat, Nitish said the students have made the state proud. He also asked the students to give their suggestions within a week on the construction of their school building. Speaking to reporters later, the chief minister said he was very happy to meet the students and interact with them. Most of them wanted to prepare for IIT, while some showed interest in civil services. Chief secretary Anjani Kumar Singh and principal secretary to the chief minister Dharmendra Singh Gangwar were also present during the interaction. Text by Amit Bhelari
