The principal of Deoraha Baba Sridhar Das Degree College at Kadna under Garkha block in the district is under the scanner of the Lokayukta, Bihar, for alleged misappropriation of funds.

Lokayukta joint secretary Ram Naresh Ram has instructed Jai Prakash University registrar Tapaswi Prasad through a letter (number 2098) to probe into the issue and verify principal Arjun Yadav’s postgraduation certificate from Gorakhpur University. Prasad has been asked to submit the report within four weeks.

A petition claimed that Yadav did not pursue postgraduation in history.

The principal has also been accused of usurping the state government’s financial aid for teachers of the college. Yadav has been accused of committing financial irregularities to the tune of Rs 1.5 crore.

When college secretary Sridhar Das sought the report on expenditure and income of the college, Yadav allegedly ignored it. He was also accused of hatching a conspiracy to remove Das from his post and get MLC Kedar Pandey appointed in his place.

Yadav could not be contacted for comment.
