The Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Limited (BSPHCL) has extended the deadline for submitting bids for energy distribution in Patna, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur and Gaya till December 31 following request from bidders.

The company issued a fresh tender on October 22 for the appointment of distribution franchisee in four cities after the erstwhile power board scrapped the deal with Essar Power for electricity distribution in the state capital. Initially, the deadline for submitting the bids was December 17.

“The power holding company has extended the deadline following the bidders’ request to give them some more time for submitting the tender documents for more areas,” BPSHCL’s director Vinayak Chandra Gupta told The Telegraph.

Besides the request from the private players, the date for submitting the tender document was extended with a view to increase the number of participants in the bidding process.
