Patna, March 18: The JD(U)’s Adhikar Rally in New Delhi cast a shadow on the proceedings of Bihar Legislative Assembly and Council a day after.
Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary had to skip one question after another in the question hour today as Dal legislators gave the House a miss after the party’s rally in New Delhi on Sunday demanding special status to the state. Jai Kumar Singh, Anant Kumar Satyarthi, Ranju Geeta, Jyoti Devi and several other JD(U) MLAs were absent when their names were called in the question hour. Several questions related to minority welfare and sugarcane remained unanswered because ministers Shahid Ali Khan and Awadhesh Kushwaha played truant.
In the first half, few JD(U) ministers, including Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Vijay Kumar Choudhary, P.K. Shahi and Jeetan Ram Majhi, were present in the House. Some BJP ministers answered to questions meant for absent Dal ministers. Animal and fish resources minister Giriraj Singh answered questions related to the industry department in Renu Devi’s absence.
