Police identify Gaya blast accused

Police claimed to have identified those behind a parcel bomb that had gone off at JDU district president Abhay Kushwaha's house on the morning of May 26.

Gaya, June 18: Police claimed to have identified those behind a parcel bomb that had gone off at JDU district president Abhay Kushwaha's house on the morning of May 26.

After the blast at Kushwaha's place in Kujapi under Chandauti block, around 4km west of Gaya district headquarters, a special investigation team (SIT) headed by Gaya city superintendent of police (SP) Rakesh Kumar was investigation the case.

Abhay's cousin brother Santosh, who also served as his bodyguard, was killed and his elder brother in-law, Jai Hind, seriously injured in the blast.

Abhay himself was lucky enough to have survived as he was not at his residence at the time of the blast.

He had gone to New Delhi to meet his son.

The city SP said today that the police have got clues in the blast incident. They have also identified those involved in the incident and said they will be arrested soon.

The police are conducting a thorough investigation through scientific methods with the help of the forensic science laboratory (FSL). The laboratory had collected samples from the spot after the blast. Police will soon be in a position to reveal facts regarding the blast, the SP said.
