Munger, Nov. 19: Former chief minister Nitish Kumar, during his Sampark Yatra here this evening, played the role of a senior counsel while lambasting the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for “misleading the people” on the black money issue.
He asked his party men to re-play the audiotapes of Modi’s speech in run-up to the Lok Sabha elections on the issue. “Modi, during the campaign speeches, promised to send every citizen of the country around Rs 15-20 lakh through their bank accounts by bringing the black money in billions from foreign countries. When Modi became the Prime Minister, his tone changed on the matter. Modi completely backed out on the promises and tried to protect the persons with black money in the Supreme Court. It is the Supreme Court that reprimanded the Union government. I say that the Supreme Court forced the BJP-led government to submit the list of persons with black money. But the list, submitted to the Supreme Court, is not complete and it lacks the details of persons with black money,” Nitish said.
Nitish asked the JDU workers to put questions before the BJP activists and asked them to send Rs 15-20 lakh to the bank account of every citizen as had been promised by Modi.
Nitish added: “The BJP government has no interest in the development of projects in Bihar. The ambitious Munger rail-cum-road bridge project was launched by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. People here celebrated like Diwali for the launch of the project a decade ago. But the BJP government is not releasing Rs 350 crore for the completion of the bridge.”
