Gandhian debate

St Joseph's Convent High School organised the annual Papiya Ghosh Memorial Inter-School Debate Competition on Thursday.

The topic for the debate was "Gandhian principles are irrelevant in the contemporary age". Eleven prominent schools of Patna took part in the competition.

Vivek Kaushal of St Michael's High School was declared the best speaker. The best team award was bagged by St Joseph's Convent High School.

Salute to elders

The state wing of HelpAge India, a non-government organisation (NGO), celebrated International Day of Older Persons on Thursday at Magadh Mahila College.

The NGO organised an interactive session between the elderly and the students. HelpAge India state chief Girish Chandra Mishra said: "Westernisation of culture is one of the main reason why the gap between the older and the younger generations is broadening."
