Musical maths quiz 

The parent-teacher association of Notre Dame Academy organised “Zero the Hero”, a musical-maths quiz, for students of classes IV and V on the school premises on Tuesday.

Four teams — Orange, Guava, Banana and Apple — participated in the competition which was uniquely designed to incorporate not only audio visual clips as clues, but also musical clues. Band members Vikas, Apoorva Raj and Rishav Gautam played the musical hints, and parent-teacher association member Amitabh Pandey was the quiz master. Team Guava won the quiz, and Abhishek and Ankita performed a play on mathematical puzzles.

Tax meeting 

Commercial taxes department principal secretary Sujata Chaturvedi organised a meeting with members of Bihar Industries Association on Tuesday on the reimbursement of value added tax under the state government’s new industrial promotion policy. 

She also spoke of the various types of grants offered by the government to entrepreneurs through online transactions, and stressed that they should complete formalities on time. Sujata highlighted the need to implement the new policy in its entirety and added that there was no provision to refund accumulated entry tax to traders.
