Nearly 25 breeds of dogs participated in the All Breed Dog Show organised by the Canine Club of Bihar on Sunday. Pugs, Lhasa Apso, German Shepherd, Dobermann, Dalmatian and English Mastiff and Neapolitan Mastiff among others came for the show.
Veterinarian and Canine Club of Bihar secretary Ajeet Kumar said the dogs were judged on their quality of breed, performance in games and how well they followed instructions.
German Shepherd Shadow, owned by Suraj Prakash, won the breed round. Pomeranian dog Sheru, owned by Piyush Jain, won the "best in obedience" category.
Film fest
The Grameen Sneh Foundation will host the Boddhisattva International Film Festival from February 16-23, announced organisation's founder Ganga Kumar on Sunday.
Nearly 3,543 films from 122 countries will compete in feature, documentary, shorts and animation categories. Members of the film festival board, who will execute the festival, were introduced at the news meet addressed by Ganga Kumar, also the managing director of Bihar State Film Development and Finance Corporation.
Alumni meet
LN Mishra Institute organised an alumni meet on Sunday. A special session of the silver jubilee celebration was also organised at the meet with the felicitation of 1978-1980 and 1989-1991 batches.
Vacancy demand
The Bihar Engineering Services Association has demanded the government to fill vacancies in post of engineers, in a resolution passed in the city on Sunday.
Association president Ajay Kumar Sinha said out of 3,550 post of engineers in six major departments, around 1,800 are vacant.
