Workshop on banks

The Reserve Bank of India on Wednesday organised a financial literacy workshop for Class XII students of St Michael's High School. Regional director, Bihar and Jharkhand, Manoj Kumar Verma spoke to the students about the different aspects of the apex bank's role and the importance of banking.

The students were told about facilities for start-ups, precautions to be taken in the use of debit and credit cards, e-commerce, banking ombudsman, Mudra banks, need for KYC (know your customer), financial inclusion and online banking among others.

Health kit

The Inner Wheel Club of Patliputra organised a programme on Wednesday to distribute 100 medicine kits among cancer patients from economically and socially weak sections of society at SS Hospital & Research Centre in Kankerbagh.

It was organised with the help of oncologist and the centre director Jitendra Kumar Singh. President of Inner Wheel Club Kanchan Roy said: "We distributed over 100 kits containing basic cancer medicines. We are also planning to set up a playroom for kids suffering from cancer in the hospital to boost their morale."

Blue bull conference

Bihar State Productivity Council and Nalanda Open University on Wednesday organised a conference on protection of blue bulls in Bihar at the university office in Patna. Close to 20 faculty members from AN College, Patna Science College, Bihar Veterinary College, Patna Women's College, Ganga Devi Mahila College and Bihar Industries Association took part in the conference.

Bihar State Productivity Council chairman Kishore Kumar chaired the meeting. Veterinarian Pallav Shekhar said: "Killing the animal is not the solution. We need to study the behaviour of blue bulls and create a park where they can breed and live."
